Consumers who have purchased the specific dry pet foods listed should discard them. People handling dry pet food can become infected with Salmonella, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with surfaces exposed to this product. Healthy people infected with Salmonella should monitor themselves for some or all of the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever. Rarely, Salmonella can result in more serious ailments including arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain, eye irritation and urinary tract symptoms. Irwindale, CA is recalling 702 cases of the Baby Spinach variety of Spinach Temptations 6 oz. bagged salads with Use-by Dates of with Product Code I1707B, IR127121 and July 4July 8 with Product Code I2007B, IR130373 because they could be contaminated by Escherichia coli O157:H7 (E.coli O157.H7). The recall extends only to products with this Use-by Date or Product Code sold in the following states: California, and WashingtonArizona. Kellogg recalls 28 million boxes of Breakfast Cereal

Kellogg recalled 28 million boxes of Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, Froot Loops and Honey Smacks cereals, "saying a 'waxy' smell and flavor coming from the package liners could make people sick," reported the AP....

A Kellogg spokeswoman said about 20 people complained about the off odor, and five reported nausea and vomiting, but Kellogg maintains that the potential for serious health problems with the affected cereals is low, and the problem comes from the lining of the cereal boxes.
